The 3-on-3 Drill – Cut, Drive & Kick emphasizes off-ball cutting, driving to the basket, and making kick-out passes under pressure.
Players learn to read defensive rotations, attack closeouts, and maintain offensive spacing through continuous game-like actions.
It’s ideal for developing decision-making, timing, and efficient ball movement in tight spaces.

Initial layout and description
There are three attacking players: two in each of the eaves (1 and 2), and a third pole medium-low (3). Each one of these players is marked by a defender. It is situated at the head of the coach with the ball. (1 and 2) cut off trying to receive the ball. (2) going to try to get on top and (1) will try his court, preferably behind the defender. In case of non-receipt, both players occupy the corner of the opposite side to where they initiated the action. After not having been possible to receipt, (3) goes up to receive the ball from the coach, a situation from which we play 3v3, after blocking direct or hand-to-hand.
The player who receives the ball (1) reads the advantages of this situation, splits and doubles in function of the aid or benefits that occur. The players defending passing attack, the attacking pass defender. Once the player himself has attacked and defended in the same position, the partners are rotated to the right.
Probable errors

- Bad work prior to the reception at the court: little advantage.
- To reiterate: do not read well the advantage on the court and stop to return to dribble and to try again to get without a lot of space.
- Make cuts without a change of pace, all at the same speed, without contact with the defender, taking little advantage of space.
Corrections

- Perform work prior to the reception, by setting our advocate (changes of pace and direction with braces shorts).
- Read the advantage in the court and will continue until the end.
- Use a change of pace, to contact with the defender to gain position with supports and a free pass line.
Variants
