The Staggered Shooting Drill is a dynamic basketball warm-up that uses a staggered player formation to simulate game-like timing, spacing, and movement.
Players rotate through three key roles—passer, shooter, and rebounder—executing shots in rhythm while maintaining flow and coordination.
This drill helps develop footwork, shooting mechanics, and passing accuracy, making it ideal for pre-practice activation or technical shooting blocks.

Initial layout and description

Players are placed in two rows indies. One placed in the center of the field, facing toward the hoop and the other in bottom-line-oriented header.

The first player of one of the two rows starts without the ball. Comes out to receive a pass from the other first player with the ball located in the other row. While you make a stop in 1, 2 or 3 times and pivot to reorient themselves and to throw to the basket. Once refocused, strip and self-rebotea.

Once you have self-reboteado, it goes to the other row. Meanwhile, the player who gave the pass comes out to receive to continue with the exercise and so the cycle is repeated.
