
The 1-on-1 – Sprint Start from Half Court drill challenges players to combine speed, control, and competitiveness. Two players sprint from midcourt—one with the ball, one without—and immediately engage in a live 1-on-1 situation. This drill enhances transition defense, off-the-dribble attack, and conditioning, while training players to handle pressure at high speed.

Recommended age

Number of players

- From 2 players on.
Recommended time

- Recommended time: 6-8 minutes.
- It changes direction at the equator temporary exercise.
Equipment and facilities

- 1 ball of Basketball for a couple.
- In case you don’t have so many balls, with 3-4 balls you can perform the exercise.
- 1 half-Basketball court. If we pitch a whole better we will have the option to select whether to perform the exercise from mid-court or from bottom-line.
Initial layout and description
Two rows indian from center circle (if we are at half court), or from a bottom-line (if we are to court as a whole) with the first of each row, shoulder to shoulder with the first of the other row india.
The two players must be front-facing.
The Coach is behind both of them to throw the ball they played the two players. The first players of each row to kick the floor (hot feet). 5-7 seconds, the Coach throws the ball and the two players start looking for the ball and playing 1×1.
Note: to turn back by the bands so as not to disturb the following companions.
Variants
- The 1×1 starts with a player coming out of each corner of the half court.
- The 1×1 starts with a player from each inner street.
- The 1×1 is played from the central street.
- It gets a maximum of boats to play a 1×1. May vary depending on from where it is to play (higher closeness of the ring, with a lower number of boats).
- The 1×1 has to be resolved in less than 5 seconds.
- The 1×1 has to be resolved in less than 3 seconds.
- You need to complete on entry.
- There is to be completed in shot from a specific location (from outside of the restricted zone, 3 points).
