The 1-on-1 – Longitudinal Drill is a high-intensity exercise in which players face off in a one-on-one situation starting from the full length of the court. This drill develops ball-handling under pressure, full-court defensive footwork, and finishing in transition. It simulates real in-game situations where players must push the ball, protect it, and score against a live defender.

Initial layout and description
We divided the group in pairs and/or triplets. Each group comes from a line in the background. You will play the first leg and the back will change the roles (the attacking player, in triple threat position, it is within the court, in the background of your defense field and the ombudsman, legal position-defensive and safe distance, is in line hoop-ball).
The defender passes the ball to the attacker and goes to him. The attacker leaves before they have passed 3 seconds.
Note: In case of a tie, leaving the player with less time was on the pitch. With this change we seek that a player who comes fresh on the court is accustomed to come with a trigger level that is optimal for transferring that routine to the parties.
Variants
- The 1×1 starts the corner.
- The 1×1 starts from the street inside.
- The 1×1 is played from the central street.
- It gets a maximum of boats to play a 1×1. May vary depending on from where it is to play (higher closeness of the ring, with a lower number of boats).
- The defender can make a countdown of 7 seconds or less.
- The defender can make a countdown of 5 seconds or less for the attacker to pass the half court.
