The Parade Style Relay Drill is a fun and dynamic warm-up where players move in coordinated lanes or flows, simulating a non-stop traffic pattern.
It promotes rhythm, coordination, spatial awareness, and team communication.
This game-like relay format helps players warm up physically while engaging cognitively with constant movement, direction changes, and task execution.

Initial layout and description
Are placed players grouped by groups forming rows spread over the same bottom line.
The first player of each row with the ball.
The signal of the coach starts the exercise. The first of every row leaving with speed boat and make a stop and then a shot.
After the shooting, must pick up his own ball, throw up the location from where they launched, and give a pass of the ball that the ball will arrive at the following partner of your group (to return to your row, it will go outside so as not to disturb the other companions). This next partner will receive in motion and will continue with the cycle of the year
The first group that comes to 2-3 baskets, wins.
At the end of the round, all the groups rotate to a side (left/right) and the group that was ‘left with no pitch’ is placed in the hole that was left in the band opposite.
VERY IMPORTANT: you have to make all the rotations until arriving to the placement of the first round to ensure that all groups have equal opportunities. After completing a cycle of rotation, it can make a second and third.
Note: It may pose to make mark in 3 tries, but it runs the risk that the player who throws him to the rush, don’t focus and that in addition, a player of your group is left ‘without exit’. Therefore it IS RECOMMENDED THAT you have only one attempt only because it adds value to the ‘shooting only’ and also works the tolerance for error (and frustration).
Variants
- There is a certain kind of stop before rolling to the basket.
- There is a certain change of hands before rolling to the basket.
- You have to throw to the basket from a certain location.
- There is a certain output.
- In case of having a ball player, you can do the same exercise, but without pass. The next player in the group will be able to exit when the player who goes before you:
- made the stop,
- I released the ball in the shot,
- landed with two feet on the ground, or
- controlled the ball after a rebound.
