Initial layout and description of the 3-on-3 – Random Rebounding Drill

The 3 defenders are placed in a focus (1 defender in each elbow area and 1 defender next to the ring). The 3 attackers will be distributed along the line of 3 points. The coach will be behind the dash.
The exercise begins with the attackers moving the ball from side to side. Meanwhile, the defenders are going to be rotating with the unique premise of looking at the ball. All the defenders iran in the same direction of rotation.
After a few investments (2-3), the coach will raise up the arms and shake hands. That will be the visual signal that will tell the attackers that the attacker in possession of the ball or who is receiving a ball last, will be the one to throw to the basket. The other attackers will have to charge the rebound. The task of the defenders is to recognize and deal the responsibility of each one depending on its placement in the time of the shooting.
If we do the exercise on the court as a whole, we may give you the option that in case of rebound for the defenders to play towards the other half court.

Variants

  • You can change the distribution of the defenders (1 in the free kick and the other two spread in the posts below).
  • You can get the slogan of ‘Change’ that forces defenders to change the direction of rotation.
  • You can extend spatially investment by placing the attackers placed in 45 ° corners.
  • Team COMPETITION: make two teams and are scoring rounds (shot directly basked is worth 1 or 2 points depending on the level of the players; rebound captured 1 or 2 points, and 1 point per ball capping and 1 point per ball recovered).
  • Applicable also in degrees of opposition from 2×2, 3×3 and 5×5.
