The 2-on-1+2 Drill – From Advantage to Disadvantage is ideal for practicing Inequality numerically.
At the start of the exercise, the attackers have an advantage that they will have to maintain and build on. In case of not doing so, you will end up at a disadvantage since they will reach the 2 defenders that they were ‘not’.

- Practice passes and shot after receptions in the race and stop.
- Work in physical conditioning.

Initial arrangement and description 2-on-1+2 – From Advantage to Disadvantage
The 3 defenders placed along the extension of free kick.
The Coach (C) is placed between the header and central circle.
The 2 attackers are placed in the bottom line of the half court, where it starts the exercise.
Before starting the exercise, the Trainer will articulate what the two defenders must go to touch the bottom line and what the defender will have to balance defensive in numerical inferiority.
We will be able to recreate the following game situations:
- Go to the band and:
- touch bottom-line two more defenders close to the receiver
- touch bottom-line two more defenders away from the receiver
The Coach passes the ball to one of the 2 attackers located in bottom-line and the advocates who said that they were going to play the bottom line and the remaining is in charge of balance defensive.
NOTE: this exercise also works Regulation. A lot of attention to the standard of the field behind (Art.30 – ‘the Ball is returned to back track’).
Variants
- To resolve the situation of the game in a certain number of passes.
- To resolve the situation of the game without using the boat.
- Bring the ball to a particular location before the end.
- Vary the degree of advantage-disadvantage.
- The coach did not give any guideline and are the advocates that are organized.
- The defenders are going to step on (or touch) the bottom line may try to steal (and thus practice the famous ‘passed by here’ Sito Alonso).
- Previously can be made in advance of the Exercise 3×1 – 5 seconds or the Exercise 3×1 – Counterattack to be making a progression prior.
- Finally, exercise can work with other degrees of opposition, 3×2+2 and 4×3+2 (and its subsequent variations of inequality numeric).
