The Number Reaction Game is a cognitive warm-up in which players react to a number called out by the coach, triggering a specific action or movement. It trains mental alertness, quick decision-making, and auditory processing, making it ideal as a preparatory game before more intense drills or tactical work.

Initial layout and description of the Number Reaction Game

All the participants across the space.
The game is perceptual and the most important thing is to not be the last. The Coach will say a number out loud and the players, bouncing the ball, they must be grouped in small groups to reach that number. Please verify that the number of all the groups is that it has been appointed. It is a game that is used to locate sub-groups within a group and to encourage group cohesion.
Sometimes it is a participant without a group. It is in evidence and then continues playing. Nothing happens and still playing (in the categories of 12 years and older can be put in a ‘mini-punishment’ physical simple to make -it may be worth a burpee or a flexion).

Note: it Is important that between number and number, let a moment of 10-15 seconds for participants to re-disperse.

Variants

  • Dribble with the hand non-dominant.
  • Bounce to a specific height (at the height of the knee, hip, shoulder, at the height of the head, above the head, etc…).
  • You can ask to be grouped by sizes similar.
  • You can ask that are grouped together by color of hair or eyes.
  • You can ask to be grouped by colors of the footwear.
  • You can play the game Colors.
