The Rescue Ball Game was born of a combination between the games of The Dizzy Tag Game and the game of Tag game.
The Rescue Ball Game is a dynamic tag-based activity where one player (“the chaser”) tries to tag others who don’t have the ball. The rest of the group must quickly pass the ball to protect teammates and prevent them from being caught. Players can only be “safe” when holding the ball, so teamwork, timing, and spatial awareness are crucial. This game is perfect for warm-ups, group coordination, and quick passing under pressure—all in a fun and energetic format.
Objectives

- Strengthen the foundation of the Pass.
- To promote communication between players.
- To improve the reception of passes.
- Encourage the vision of the game.
Recommended age

- From 6 years onwards (School and Minibasket: categories pre-benjamin, benjamin, and fry).
Number of players

- Small groups. 3-4 players. You can also do with more players. What is important is that the attackers are always as a little person more than the defenders.
Recommended time

- Total duration of the game 7-10 min.
Equipment and facilities

- 1 ball of Basketball by each group.
- In a diaphanous space and extend. You can use half court with a basket or pitch whole with their respective two baskets, but it is not imperative that you have baskets. The surface to use for each group would equate to a quadrant of field (the area bounded by the line that joins the ring with the center circle, half court, the band and the background).
Initial layout and description of The Rescue Ball Game
Once you have made the groups, in each of them there will be a person who is in the league. It is placed in the middle of the circle made by the other players.
The game is simple. The player who is the league, which is in the middle of the circle, you need to tag any player who does not have possession of the ball. To do this, the circle formed by the other players can be large (5-6 meters between each player).
When the defender touches the attacker without the ball, they will change roles, being the last player who touched the ball who is the flirt, placing the player who recovered the ball on the perimeter of the circle. This game is ideal to encourage the sharing of the ball at an early age. In addition also serves to work the defense of the pass line.
Note: it is important to play with the proportion of defenders with respect to attackers. The key is that the team of attackers always have at least one more person to the team of defenders (in the case of 3).
It is recommended to play in:
- zone 3 seconds in case you have a total of 3 players.
- interior of the triple in case you have a total of 4 players.
- in mid-court in the case of a total of 5-6 players.
- on the court whole in case you have more than 6 players.
Variants
- Prohibit some type of pass (skip for example).
- Force the pass because it is different from the previous.
- Oblige to give the passes in any specific way (only passes chopped or passes a hand for example).
- Ban the player receiver of the pass return the pass to whom it happened. In this way we work triangulations.
- You can play in a larger group may make more than two people or even 3 that is the link based on the total number of participants (a group of 4, 1 is the league; a group of 5-6 , 2 is the bound; a group of 7-8, 3 is the link).
