Sidelines and Baselines

Sideline Out-of-Bounds (SLOB)

Baseline out of bounds (BLOB)

remove, background, basketball

The sideline and baseline can decant a game. They are what we might call played to the ‘dead Ball’. The advantage that we have is that, unlike a transition or a contrataque, we can intuit a better defensive reactions and be able to control more easily that parameter.

The plays of Band looking to create an advantage before the ball is in play. This benefit is then used to finish with a shot with the highest probability of success.

We have to pay attention to two essential aspects:

  • Detail: We have to take into account the technical foundations individual involved as well as the fundamentals of tactical (defensive and offensive) mobilized by both teams. All the technical aspects become more important even than that usually. A lock with wrong angle may not generate sufficient advantage to the player who receives the pass then safely and quickly. A bad pass can result in a loss which can give rise to a contrataque.
  • The execution: All the moves must be executed to perfection. All the players in the team must be sabérsela. Seems obvious, but in every team there is always a player who does not control any of the moves (even in professional Basketball). To Polish all the details we need to automate your game play. For this reason it is necessary to practice it in training and devote all the time necessary for the player to memorize tactically, the synchronized together (as if it were an orchestra) and know how to apply all the different options available to you (after the correct reading of the game). Finally, note that the trainer must not only convey how to perform the play, but why is performed.

In addition to these two aspects to be taken into account, we must also assess the following that we have mentioned below:

– Put the ball in play within the track – to give priority to the pass to the shooter
– Dribble is a must
– Make good locks, taking into account location, angle of the crash, and possible defensive reactions to take advantage of the lock
– Lock to the player who blocks
– Keep in mind that the player performs a lock-blind usually stay unchecked
– Maintain cold blood
