Burnout Tag

The Burnout Tag is a traditional tag-and-throw game in which players try to hit opponents with a soft ball to eliminate them from play. While not strictly a basketball drill, it’s often adapted to encourage mobility, throwing accuracy, agility, and group dynamics in warm-ups or end-of-session activities. The simplicity and excitement make it a favorite across all ages.

Initial layout and description of the Burnout Tag

Variants of the Burnout Tag

  • Dribble with the hand non-dominant.
