
Fox Tail Tag is an energetic and chaotic tag game where each player wears a strip of fabric (“tail”) tucked into their waistband. The goal is to capture as many tails as possible while protecting your own. This dynamic activity develops reaction speed, agility, peripheral awareness, and is excellent as a warm-up game to raise engagement and competitiveness in players of all ages.
Objectives

- Automate the pot.
- Improve the coordination dynamics.
- To dissociate the look of the ball.
Recommended age

- From 6 years onwards (School and Minibasket: categories pre-benjamin, benjamin, and fry).
Number of players

- From 3 players forward.
Recommended time

- Total duration of the game 7-8 minutes, doing short rounds of 2-3 minutes.
Equipment and facilities

- 1 Basketball player.
- A rope, a scarf or a bib for the player. Each player must place the string or the scarf in the elastic or rubber of the waist of his pants sports in such a way that will sustain itself and that the majority of the material is in view. This will be the tail of a fox.
- You can make this game in an open plan space, on a half court or in a court as a whole.
Initial layout and description of the Fox Tail Tag
All across the pitch. The signal of the Coach, and the game starts. Each player must place the string or the scarf in the elastic or rubber of the waist of his pants sports in such a way that they hold in themselves and that the majority of the material is in view. This will be the Tail of a Fox.
In the case of a play in an open space, it will define an area of ‘house’ in which the players can be only and exclusively to add the Tails of Foxes that have been captured previously.
The signal of the start of the game. The main objective of the game is, while preserving their own ‘Tail of the Fox’ (rope, scarf or bib) until the end of the game, collecting, one by one, the Tails of the Fox of his rivals.
In case you catch a Tail of Fox-employed person, you must go to the marked area of ‘house’ or a-line side of the pitch to add your new Tail Fox to your collection, and then return immediately to the game.
If a player has captured a Tail of Fox employees and that leads to the marked area or the lateral line will get your Tail Fox original or catch the ones you already own, you will need to complete go to the marked area or lateral line to be placed which had just captured.
Variants
- Dribble with the hand non-dominant.
- Bounce to a specific height (at the height of the knee, hip, shoulder, at the height of the head, above the head, etc…).
- Cola de Zorro express: In this mode you can take multiple Tails Fox at the time, but in case you lose the original, it is deleted. When at the end of the round are two players, you can:
- end up rewarding the survivors,
- determine a single winner in terms of who has more Tails a Fox,
- or solve a final duel in which who take the tail of the other, keep the queues that collected it.
- You can play between couples, duel mode. In this mode it is important to note well the spaces between partner and partner. In this mode, there is no ‘Home’.
- You can play in teams if there are plates of the same color or a few participants.
