Objectives for teaching

- Locate the target
- Maintain a balanced stance
- Catch the ball with one hand on the boat.
- Surround the ball behind the back.
- Push the ball with the flexion of the elbow of the hand holding the ball.
- End with the fingers facing towards the target of the pass and the palm facing up.
Most common errors

- Do not locate the target
- Lose your balance
- Does not catch the ball or not holding it in.
- The ball is still ‘hooked’ to the body.
- Does not use the flexion of the elbow and the ball goes off without force.
- It ends with the fingers oriented in another direction that is not towards the target and the palm facing the side or down.
The Behind-the-back pass is intimately related to the change behind the back. You can combine both of these teachings since there are a lot of transfer. A good way to teach them is through the Behind-the-back pass bounced.
